Founder & Principal Consultant

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Justin Woodard is a retired U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Special Operations veteran with over 20 years of military service across multiple branches, including extensive experience in Special Operations. His career spanned roles as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialist, Infantryman, Civil Affairs Team Sergeant, and senior instructor, with global deployments supporting complex operations across multiple theaters.

Justin brings deep expertise in UAS integration, ISR operations, test and evaluation, and training development. He has led the integration of unmanned systems, robotics, and autonomy capabilities across training, doctrine, and operations, with a focus on sUAS, counter-UxS, airspace and spectrum integration, and rapid fielding of mission-ready technologies into the force.

His professional work has supported key priorities including autonomous systems integration, resilient mission command architecture, and scalable capability delivery to Special Operations forces. Justin is particularly focused on operator-centric autonomy solutions that enhance mission effectiveness in contested environments.

Following his military service, Justin founded Darkcloud Robotics Group to translate that operational experience into professional training, integration, and advisory services for government agencies, defense contractors, law enforcement, and enterprise clients navigating the rapidly evolving robotics and autonomy landscape.

Justin holds a FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and multiple college degrees. He remains active in the defense and robotics community as a practitioner, instructor, and advisor with a direct focus on advancing responsible autonomous systems adoption.

Peighton Woodard serves as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Darkcloud Robotics Group, where she is responsible for business operations, client relations, brand development, and organizational management. Her role ensures that DRG operates with the same discipline and attention to detail that defines its technical services.

Peighton brings over 16 years of experience in client-facing industries, including professional services and real estate, where she developed a sharp understanding of relationship management, operational coordination, and delivering consistent results under demanding conditions. Her career has been defined by a high standard of client care, strategic communication, and the ability to manage complex, moving parts with precision.

Beyond her operational background, Peighton is an entrepreneur in her own right. As the founder of Luna Leaf™, a wellness platform dedicated to women’s health and performance optimization, she has demonstrated the ability to build a brand from concept to community, combining technology, systems thinking, and mission-driven leadership into a cohesive product.

That same founder mindset directly informs her work at DRG. She brings creative problem-solving, structured organizational management, and an instinct for building client trust that complements DRG’s technical depth. While Justin leads from the operational and technical side, Peighton ensures the business runs with the professionalism and consistency that government and institutional clients expect.

Together, the Woodards bring a complementary leadership structure that balances operational credibility with business discipline, a combination that defines how DRG engages every client and delivers every engagement.
